What are Hytale Servers?
Hytale servers are multiplayer worlds run by the community. Each one offers something different: survival challenges, RPG adventures, competitive PvP, creative building, or completely custom game modes built with Hytale's modding tools. It's multiplayer on your terms.
Our server list gathers the best Hytale servers in one place. We rank them by real player activity and engagement - not who pays the most. That means you'll actually find active communities, not ghost towns.
When you vote for a server you enjoy, you're doing more than boosting a number. You're helping that server get seen by other players and showing the owners their work matters. Votes keep good servers visible and help the whole Hytale community grow.
What is Hytale?
Hytale is a block-based sandbox RPG from Hypixel Studios - the team behind one of the biggest Minecraft server networks in the world. They've spent over a decade running multiplayer communities, and that experience shows. Hytale was built from the ground up with servers and modding in mind.
The game mixes sandbox building with proper RPG combat. You'll explore procedurally generated worlds full of dungeons, craft gear, build bases, and fight your way through creatures ranging from woodland critters to massive bosses. Three distinct zones offer different biomes and challenges: the lush Emerald Grove, the scorching Howling Sands, and the frozen Borea.
After Riot Games cancelled the project in June 2025, the original founders bought it back and got to work. They've been refreshingly honest about the state of things - Early Access will be rough around the edges, but the core is solid and updates will be frequent.
Why Hytale Servers Matter
Servers aren't an afterthought here. They're central to how Hytale works.
Server-side modding changes everything. When you join a modded Hytale server, you don't need to download anything yourself. The server handles all the custom content. No more juggling mod versions or waiting for everyone in your group to sort their client. Just connect and play.
This approach came directly from the Hypixel team's experience running Minecraft servers. They've dealt with the headaches of client-side modding for years, and they've designed Hytale to avoid those problems entirely.
Server owners also get a fair deal. Hypixel Studios takes 0% of your revenue for the first two years, and they've committed to never taking more than 20% after that. If you're running a self-sufficient server with good moderation and original content, you'll likely pay even less.
What Can You Do on Hytale Servers?
The short answer: almost anything. But here's what you can expect from the community as things get going.
Survival and Exploration
Classic survival gameplay with Hytale's combat system and progression. Gather resources, build a base, and venture into dungeons with friends.
Creative Building
Hytale's creative tools are genuinely impressive. Scripted brushes let you paint entire ruins or forests with a few clicks.
PvP and Competitive
Expect arena servers, faction wars, and territory control. The combat system supports dodging, charged attacks, and proper hit feedback.
Custom Minigames
This is where Hytale should really shine. The team built Bed Wars, SkyWars, and countless other games on Hypixel.
Roleplay and Story
With visual scripting and custom NPCs, servers can create narrative experiences with quests, dialogue trees, and persistent characters.
Early Access: What to Expect
Hytale Early Access launched 13 January 2026 and is available now. There are three editions:
- Standard Edition - $19.99
- Supporter Edition - $34.99
- Cursebreaker Founders Pack - $69.99
The game includes Exploration Mode (survival gameplay), Creative Mode (building and tools), and full modding support. Adventure Mode with its story content and minigames will come later.
This is genuine early access — there may be bugs and rough edges. But the team has committed ten years of funding and brought back over 30 developers.
Available on Windows, macOS, and Linux at launch.
Finding the Right Server

Running Your Own Server
Planning to host a Hytale community? Add your server to get listed before launch.
Server hosting providers are already preparing for January. You'll want dedicated hardware if you're expecting more than a couple dozen players - shared hosting works for small groups, but public servers need the extra headroom.
The modding tools ship on day one. Blockbench integration for custom models, visual scripting for game logic, and Java plugins for deeper systems. The learning curve exists, but Hypixel Studios plans to release their minigame source code so you can study how the professionals build things.
Server source code will be available within a couple of months after launch. That's not common - most games keep their server internals locked down. Here you'll be able to read exactly how things work and even submit fixes if you find problems.
